Unfinished Red Birch

Red Birch is carefully selected from the full run of birch lumber expressly for its warm tones and intriguing heartwood grain.

The unique Maine Traditions Selected Grade of Unfinished Red Birch is actually an exclusive combination of grades—rather than sorting our rare Red Birch into First and Second Grades, this unique grade is blended to bring out the true beauty of Red Birch.

With its vibrant grain and warm color, Red Birch makes for a truly appealing floor with distinctive character and incomparable warmth. This stunning floor is typically finished without any stain, as shown here, since quality polyurethane varnish enhances its natural colors so beautifully. Available in 2 1/4" width.

Our Selected Grade is a true combination of 1st and 2nd grades, utilized only in specialty species such as American Cherry or Red Birch. Instead of pulling individual grades from these species we do a true Selected run of lumber within grade. Combining 1st and 2nd grade produces a unique floor with both the quality of clear and the uniqueness of character.
